ABOUT THE EVENT
Opening reception: September 17 2-4 pm
Free Event – All Welcome!
Mental illness is a struggle for many, including Selkirk artist Robert Irvine. A passionate photographer since childhood, Robert’s work once reflected a much lighter and colourful approach, almost as if he was in denial. In an effort to accept the reality of bipolar disorder, he attempts to communicate this transition by forging a link between depression and hope, through the contrast of shadows and light. His motive is to reach the audience beyond the image in the frame, in hopes they recognize depression can be a positive aspect of life.
Art Gallery @ Lighthouse Festival Theatre invites you to the opening reception in our lower gallery on Sunday, September 17 from 2-4 pm, where you can meet the photographer in person!
