Celebrate International Women’s Day 2025 in Port Dover!

Join us for an inspiring evening as Norfolk County Economic Development and Lighthouse Festival proudly co-host a celebration of International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at Lighthouse Festival Theatre in Port Dover. From 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, we invite you to connect with local leaders, share in meaningful discussions, and celebrate the incredible achievements of women in our community and beyond. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to Haldimand Norfolk Women’s Services.

This year’s event will feature a dynamic panel of accomplished women, each making a significant impact in their respective fields. Jane Spence, Artistic Director of Lighthouse Festival, and Kristen Da Silva, Playwright/Actor, will share insights into their journeys in the theatre industry and the role of the arts in empowering women’s voices. Jennifer Schooley, owner of Apple Hill Lavender Farm, will discuss entrepreneurship, sustainability, and the power of women-led businesses in Norfolk County. Claire Senko, Artistic Producer & Program Director at Waterford Old Town Hall, will speak to the importance of arts, culture, and community-driven initiatives in fostering inclusivity and innovation. Carrie Sinkowski, of McMaster University and The Community Legal Clinic of Brant Haldimand Norfolk, will talk about accessing justice and community development for women. Finally, Abby Mitchell, Editor in Chief & Founder of The Abby Post, will chat about connecting to the community and helping others.

Beyond the inspiring talks, this event will provide valuable networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect with fellow professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members who are passionate about supporting and uplifting women. Light refreshments will be served, creating a welcoming atmosphere to engage in meaningful conversations.

International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on the progress made toward gender equality while recognizing the work that still needs to be done. This event will encourage attendees to embrace this year’s theme, Inspire Inclusion, by fostering dialogue, collaboration, and support for women in all areas of life.
