Making her Lighthouse stage debut, JD Leslie tries to keep things together in On The Air.
JD Leslie is ready for her premiere on the Lighthouse stage this summer in On The Air, but is no stranger to the stage. She played Sarah in VIERGE at Factory Theatre, Anaia in IS GOD IS at Obsidian Theatre/NAC, & Snow White in SNOW WHITE at Young People’s Theatre. We had a quick chat with JD to find out what sort of person is going to love this show, what she does just before she goes on stage, and what’s going to surprise people about this show.
Lighthouse (L): What sort of person is going to love this show?
JD Leslie (JL): People who grew up on the radio station and still remember to favourite host. Mine are Roz and Mocha from Kiss 92.5
L: What’s going to surprise people about this show?
JL: How much they can relate to these characters. And eclectic soundtrack of this play!
L: Besides yourself, what celebrity would you like to see tackle this character?
JL : India Amarteifio. That girl who plays the young Queen Charlotte in the Bridgerton Series.
L: What’s your perfect Sunday afternoon look like?
JL: A nice day in the summer, with a McFlurry in hand. Or heading to a patio bar with a few friends, after seeing a show.
L: What’s the last thing you do before you step out on stage / the curtain goes up?
JL: It’s a little silly… but I knock on wood. Always works!
