Curtains is a side-splitting Broadway musical comedy where murder meets musical theatre – and the result is pure showbiz gold. Set in 1959 Boston, the story begins on the opening night of a brand-new (and not-so-brilliant) musical called Robbin’ Hood. When the show’s talentless leading lady drops dead mid-bow, it’s up to the charmingly awkward Detective Frank Cioffi, a cop with Broadway dreams of his own, to solve the case before the killer strikes again.
As the cast and crew scramble to save both the show and their necks, what unfolds is a hilariously campy mash-up of mystery, romance, and razzle-dazzle. Packed with catchy Kander and Ebb tunes, witty wordplay, and a script that pokes loving fun at the world of theatre itself, Curtains proves that sometimes the only thing more dramatic than a murder is an opening night.
Filled with backstage gossip, dance numbers, and enough jazz hands to cover a crime scene, Curtains is a laugh-out-loud love letter to anyone who’s ever missed their cue, flubbed a line, or dreamed of hearing applause. It’s a musical comedy with a killer twist – literally!
Past Community Shows

Meet some of our Community Show players!
“Life is full of so many overwhelming emotions, the only way to express those feelings is to sing! I am exhilarated to be a part of LFT’s Community Show where we will bring joy and laughter through song and dance; offensive content and costume changes are bonus ;)”
– Nikki Wiltac, Community Show Actor
“Having attended the Lighthouse Community shows for years, I am excited to finally be part of the action. The Producers is such a fun show with a lot of wacky characters and songs which make being part of the ensemble a hoot.”
– Lisa Shebib, Community Show Actor
“Working with such a talented and welcoming group reminds me of why I started on the stage. The relationships you foster and the skills learned are insurmountable. We can do it!”
– Lyndsey Dearlove, Community Show Actor

– Mac Buchwald, Community Show Actor
“I am excited to meet more people in the community and have the opportunity to sing with others (instead of alone in the car). I am also excited for all of the ridiculousness and over-the-top-ness that this show promises; I’m looking forward to bringing lots of laughs and joy into the community.” – Justine Draus, Community Show Actor

It’s quite rewarding being part of the process from start to finish.” – Shelby Mulder, Community Show Actor

“Lighthouse provides a stage to showcase talent from the community: actors, singers, technical arts, production etc, which may otherwise not be seen by such a large audience. My favourite part of the process is the moment right before I step on stage, a mix of paralyzing fear and uncontainable joy to step into the light. The people here are the most valuable asset that Lighthouse has: creative, funny and committed to making people laugh. What could be better?” – Julie MacLeod, Community Show Actor
“We community show actors are given the gift of being able to check our problems at the door and play together for a few hours. The laughs backstage with new and old friends are priceless, as is the feeling of making a roomful of people laugh and cry together. I’m grateful to Derek and everyone at Lighthouse for giving us a chance to make magic on that stage, and can’t wait to be back up there again.” – J.P. Antonacci, Community Show Actor
